Through out this year i have been learning about 3d moddeling and animating. I have learned many differnt things and will go into detail in this post. Firstly i was shown the basics of 3DS. The interface, shortcuts and basically what and how the program works.

After my tutor, sundesh, had shown me the basics of how to use the program he then began to teach us basic modeling techniques. He began by shown ing me box modelling. Shown below.

Box modelling takes a basic cube or cuboid. Once you have this you then begin to crete obejects and other shapes by extruding a face or faces on the shape. This can eventually lead complex shapes and models maybe even of a proffestional level.
After i grasped box modelling, i was then given an exmple model to experiment with and gain some animation experiance. This model was already smothed and perts of the body already IKed. i would move differnt parts of the body like the hand or foot and the would dictate what would happen to the elbow if i moved the hand, or if i moved th foot the leg would move and bend at the knee.
Once i had done this i was then set two peiceds of theory work, one about the concepts of animating and modeling, and another piece on my storyboard and plan for my project.
In The first peice of wwork for UNit64-65 i created a powerpoint presentation covering many subjects areas such as:- Geometric theory, mesh construction, box moddeling, Lighting, camers file formats and type of modelling software.

The second piece of theory work done was the palnning for my end product. on this peice of work i talked about what kind colour palette i would be using, my storyboard, the script lighting effects, who i am doing this for and brief discription of what a digital showcase is.

Once i did this i began working on my final
product.
Unfourtnatly due to the lack of time my final product did not meet my expectations. Because my product was never finished to a displayable amount i can say that my product did not meet my expected target audience due to the lack of substance present. however while deveolping my product i saved my work very often as many differnt files making it easy to edit things at a late stage of production. Also the technique used to model was very simple making its easy to start from scratch should any problems arise. Although i had just about finshed modelling my product i had not prepeared a mesh for my work leaving the aesthetic of my prduct dull and plain.
Overall if i was given the chance to re-create this product i would spen more time concentrating on my work and also take extra time to work on it in my own free time. I would also more on getting a finished model with a mesh rather then a detail accurate incoplete human shape.
Below are some examples of my video files from the course.
